Reading Log - Beneficial and Extra Credit

  • Each class has been assigned a reading log (optional, not mandatory) beginning Monday, Jan 28.
  • This is strictly to benefit the student and their reading comprehension.
  • Books only( student preference)

Designate a separate part of the three ring binder required for my class for a reading log. Each night (Monday - Friday) the student should document the day of the week and date at the top of a piece of paper. They should also have a space for time started, time finished (must be at least an hour), reading material, page number started, page number ended. As the student reads, the should document any and all words that are unfamiliar. When reading has been completed for each night, the student should define all words and write a brief summary regarding the part of the book read that particular night.

At the end of the week (Friday), student will receive a daily grade. The daily grades will be calculated into a test grade at the end of each 9 week period.

  • This is an "all or none" project. I will not give partial credit.
